The Appia Residences is an attractive sandstone building very close to Prague Castle, with just 21 rooms and suites, arranged around a central courtyard and small, but lovely, garden. There were also two bathrooms in the apartment so we could quite happily pretend the teens weren't even there. And the all important Wi-Fi worked no problem - no fear of a teen revolt. The apartment was on the 4th floor of the hotel - lovely building with a lift - and was so peaceful that we heard nothing of any traffic. Breakfast was a very comprehensive continental choice; there was something for everyone and we were never struggling for a seat, even at busy times. The staff at reception were superb and thankfully spoke perfect English.

I’d suggest taking some time to explore the different neighborhoods, perhaps getting to know their weekly markets and little cafes or hospodas . It’s been a while since I visited the zoo, but I do remember it being very well done and caring for the animals. It’s possible to take a boat to a point near there so that the journey to the zoo is also an experience. I visited Prague last year for the first week in May and, though we did do quite a bit of the touristy stuff, I adored the city.
