Improvisation Guitar

What drives guitarists to pick up the guitar is that they want to learn to play their favorite songs. Another tip that can greatly improve your guitar improvisation is to play along with a CD. Put on one of your favorite CDs and when there is a pause or a bridge somewhere in the song, play some chords or a scale in the key of the song over the music playing in the background.
Once you have practiced the same tune over and over again it then gives you the ability to play it without even having to give it much thought this is the point you must get to before you start to dramatize your techniques where they become more individualized.



The story is often more important than the sound of the chords, that's why it's important not to neglect this in your improvisations, the groove, the swing, nice electric guitar songs the feeling, the intensity, the fun, the emotion, etc., and try to create an climax in your playing, often towards the end of your improvising.

Exotic scales” seem to indicate either scales common in non-western derived forms of music (eastern music, middle eastern music, …) but I've also seen the term refer to some of the less common scales that are often used in jazz or metal, such as the Phrygian Dominant Scale, The two diminished scales, the whole tone scale or the altered dominant scale.
For example if you see the chord progression C Am F G (repeated) then this is in the key of C major and these chords are formed from the C major scale, so the C major scale would be your first choice, scales like C natural minor will not really work here.

To learn to phrase with the notes of a scale takes a lot of time experimenting with the notes to come up with phrases that sound good to you.
